Eye Movement and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
EMDR is an innovative, evidence-based, and nationally recommended clinical treatment available at Talking Sleep. 

EMDR effectively treats a range of disorders (e.g., PTSD, depression, anxiety, stress, etc.), and research shows that engaging in EMDR is an effective treatment for trauma related sleep disturbances. 

This method of therapy utilises the natural healing abilities of your body. EMDR emulates your body’s natural coping mechanism processes, allowing the brain to process information without becoming overwhelmed. At Talking Sleep, we have found that EMDR is also an effective treatment for the anxiety around sleep in both adults and children.

EMDR sessions range from 60 – 90 minutes and can be a brief focussed treatment or part of a longer psychotherapy plan. It is important to note that EMDR is not appropriate for everyone, as you must be aware of and willing to experience strong feelings and disturbing thoughts which sometimes occur during sessions.
